Fire & Emergency Service in Karnataka was first established in the year 1942 in Bangalore South & North under the administrative control of the Police Department. Later during the reorganization of the state, a few more fire stations at Ballary, Hospet, Mangalore, Udupi & Raichur were added to the Karnataka State This system of functioning of fire service under the administrative control of the Police Department was continued till the enactment of Karnataka State Fire Service Act. The Director General of Police also functions as the commandant General of Home Guards & Ex-Office Director of Civil Defence.

- Educational Qualification - The candidate must passed SSLC or equivalent examination from any recognized Board & for fireman driver job, with SSLC, the candidate also have a valid Driving License. For other posts check in the advertisement.
- Age Limit - The age of the applicant must be in between 18 to 26 years except Fire Station Officer, for which minimum age limit is 21 years.

- Pay the application fees through Challan.
